Anonymous FTP Anonymous FTP stands for "Anonymous File Transfer Protocol" and is generally used to share files with the public without have to create many users and passwords.  Essentially, anyone can login to the FTP server.  Many servers enable this feature by default and it should be disabled if you don't plan on using it.
